sorry about the delay, we're working on it. click on the title to see the scripture.

I think that this passage means that we should all keep our gifts of ministry in use. You know, like daily doing something to grow in Christ because the passage states that others will see you (us) mature before their eyes.

We should keep a watch on what we do and not be diverted. It's easy to be led astray, especially in high school, but we as the christians on campus should be firm in our faith. If we keep at our own salvation(faith) then others around us will see the growth in us and will eventually find salvation.

Going to California, we are going to need to be mentally prepared for the toll this trip will take on our faith, so when we continue to grow in Christ, it will be less of a shock.

james' note: I love this-a lot of time we spend thinking just about the culture shock, but what is the faith shock going to be? How does the faith shock really affect us? Awesome thoughts!

its crazy to think that we will be growing more maturely than othes, like other old ppl in our church. i also like how it says to keep it in use becasue i know a lot of ppl who were Christians when they were kids and think they are still Christians now as adults, but they really arent becasuse they are full of dust. I also really like how the church puts there hands on them and prays for them to show them support, such as the church did for us with money support. O how much i love our church.

"Keep that dusted off and in use"

Just keep working through what you have been given. Don't let yourself get rusty at it.

And then we also can't let ourselves get diverted from focusing on God and our own character, otherwise we slowly fade back into the habits of our old selves, and Non Christians see no difference between us and them.

Find out what your gift is and run with it. Use your gift to grow in Christ and also to help others. I like how it says to "keep it dusted off and in use." God gave us gifts for a reason... to use them for His purposes. We need to keep reading the bible and using what God gave us or else we won't be doing His work.

When i read these verses, I got the sense that everybody obvously has different talents. Some people can easily walk up to people and just command their attention, others are pretty shy. By us going to LA i think that its saying for us to use those strengths and teach people about God by doing so. Out going people can simply go up to a stranger and begin a conversation of the Lord, other can sit back and see who else is sitting back and relate with them.

In verse 14, I like how it says that they layed hands on us and prayed for us. I think it is our mission/job to do the same thing for them and the younger generations coming in after us. Also in verse 16, it says keep a firm grasp on your character. We talked about this already, but I think it is extremely important that we keep our personality and not let others influence our actions.

ok so what ther saying is stay at your post and you will be given the special gift of ministry so when you stay at the post you will teach the good word and than keep a firm grip it saying that when you i not shure but?

I'm sure there will be some faith shock for all of us- but i think that, like this passage says, if we keep growing, doing our devos and reading the Word- we'll be somewhat prepared. But i think that no matter how many mission trips you've been on, each one gives you a different experience and teaches you something and "shocks" you in different ways.

I think it's really good that we go in groups on these trips because, like Michelle said, we all have different talents. It's good that we can work together and use them, instead of taking someone really shy and saying "good luck" and sending them out there alone. We can all work on our own strengths and grow, while at the same time we can team up and be a complement to each other's gifts.

i think this verse is saying that we always need to keep learning from the bible or from a person and that we are never to let are skills in leading a person to christ just sit there and we never use them but we should at least make sure of our knowledge so that in case we do need to we shall have the chance to and you will be ready i think this will help us in LA because if we do what the verse says then if we are questioned about our religion by someone over there then we shall have a better chance of helping

How are you supposed to take your gift and run with it if you don't even have a clue of what it might be?

In verse 16 I think this is an extremely important verse for life in general because it tells us to hold strong to what we know and believe don't lose faith. In a way it reminds me of the man who built his house upon the rock and the other man who built his house upon the sand.

I think about the whole faith-shock thing that by not doing devos or quiet times etc. a person would be more likely to be shocked than someone who is more prepared.

This passage is saying that poeple in our church and poeple around us believe in us,they truly believe that we will do a great job down in LA, help as much as we can and that we have the support of the whole church.

I know all of you talk about taking your gift and running with it, because that was obviouly in the passage, but it's way hard to truly know what your gift is. I know that I am not entirely positive, and like Bri said,"how are you supposed to take your gift and run with it if you don't know what in the heck it is," I think that we should each be trying new and different things so we start to truly learn where our gifts lie.

You have to teach about God and preach/lead people to him all the time because you have been given that gift by him to spread the word. This is what we must do in order to get ready to go to LA.

"Don't be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation."...soo pretty much....I love this statement. I think its saying to not loose track, that both you and that person your pouring your heart and soul to will both be saved. We want to keep our faith in use, not up on a shelf somewhere where it will get dusty. I mean its what we do, its why we're here.
