This verse talks about our jobs as Christians - but more importantly, not to get mixed up in only doing good things for people you like or when helping someone conquer sin, you yourself get mixed up in it. I have fallen into this; because of my shyness I only do things for/with people I like. There will be no chance for favoritism in LA - how do you think this will help? Do you think getting mixed up in someone's sin will be easy to do or not?

i think this verse is saying that we should all listen and obey what he just said becasue everyone in heaven agrees to it and its talking about not letting someone become a curch leader to fast because there might be some problems in that persons life and you don't want to support them in doing it so i think this will help us on our trip because now maybe we won't think some people are just great from what they look like but now maybe we shall take time to consider who they are instead of what they look like and maybe we won't have to many problems

I think the part about favoritism is pretty straightforward because it's a command from God, Christ, and the angels telling us not to show favoritism. I think being impartial is something that I could work on because sometimes it's hard to get out of your box or clique etc. and talk to others. In L.A. we are going to have to talk to people we don't even know. I think that when we are in L.A. that when we don't show favoritism people won't be left out and hopefully from the favortism issue there won't be any conflicts so yes I think this will help us.

And I think the last verse is saying get to know people for one thing before you judge because if you judge to hastily as it said and then set them up as an authority figure then if there is some unknown sin a person might get mixed up in it unwillingly and unknowingly.

Not showing favortisim really is difficult. That is something we should all be constantly working on. We definitely aren't going to be able to have any kind of favortisim in LA. Many of us will have to step out of our boxes to talk to complete strangers and we will do that because its what God told us to do. We will be carrying our his instructions.

I think it could be easy to get involved in somebody's sin. Somebody might of confessed to you that they participated in something illeagal. Then comes the question do you tell on them or try to help them yourself... But it also depends on the sin as to whether or not it will be easy to get caught up in it or not.

It seems to be extremely hard not to show favoritism because that is just our nature as humans. We will like some people more than others, that is just the way it is. But in LA we have to fight what is natural because we can't cringe and shy away because we are dealing with people we are not comfortable with.

Also, when we try to help others with sin, we have to keep a safe distant really. Only because our sinful nature will get us tangled in what we do not need to be in.

the first part of the verse it really hits home at work, because we talk to and deal with a lot of ppl that arent "normal" they have drug problems or are metally slow, and i try to talk to everone as i would want to be treated and my co workers think that its wierd how i act with ppl. i think its funny how they think i act wierd, when im actually just being what God wants me to be, and i like the way i am.

Also about the leaders with sin, i think that at least our church does a good check on all our pastors 1 before they come to lead becasue look how long it took to find our fearless youth pastor james. and also it seems as that they all keep really close to one another and that is a great way for everyone to be able to talk things out.

Like everyone else, I think that favoritism is a huge part in going to LA. Not picking favorites or sides, will keep the gossip level down. Those that went to Vancouver know what I mean. I think working together as one is what is going to
make us successful in LA. To add to what Michelle said, a lot of us have to come out of our shell, like me, in order for this to happen.

Favortism is a tough thing to overcome. I struggle with it everyday...but in order to really be able to help the people in LA we all need to be impartial and not judgemental; towards each other and towards those who we'll be serving.

Yeah Favoritism is tough to overcome but it will also be vital to the trip. The second part talks about not running into things to fast. Pray about them, seek God's counsel and avoid the sin. you don't want to appoint someone who will drag the rest into sin.

I agree with Heidi judgemental towards each other or people we will be serving. Wedo not know how people get to bad situation and why they struggle in life and it is certainly not our job to judge them and make them feel bad. We will be there to help and I think it is important to remember that we get to trobule too, but fortunately there is always someone, like our family and friends who are able to help us and I think we should try to be friemds with the people in lA, show them support and God so they can get out of their problem and sins.

Not showing favoritism can be way hard. It's one of those things that's really easy to do and not even realize it. But God is so against it, which makes sense. If you favor someone because of their wealth or something who knows what you could be getting yourself into if you put them into a influencial leadership position that they really shouldn't have.
