Sin always finds a way of revealing itself. Whether it's a lie or stealing something that seems secret, it will come out eventually, but the same goes for good deeds. You may try to hid them but they will be made known. If you help a friend, people will learn of it. If you help the poor, it will be made known, an dmaybe through the example of good that is being done people will floow Jesus and also do good deeds. But maybe this passage could also be a warning that as good deeds are made known and could influence others to do good, so also could the revealed sin lead others into sin. ~Joyce

The deeds of people can either go unnoticed, or noticed - whether it's sin or not. And some things will be more obvious, like a murder, but nobody knows about the person who told a lie a few minutes ago(not yet, at least). Just like with good things, some companies will donate a little money to something and then spend tons of money letting people know what they did, while regular people do things without getting recognition all the time.

If you lie, do something bad, steal or whatever, you know it and if you have just a little character it will bother you, even it you can keep it secret what deosn`t happen very often but anyways I just wanted to say that there is much more good with good deeds than by lieing even if it was for a good purpose.
When we go to LA we are going to try to help people, tell them about GOd, and maybe not all of them will accept our help and become christians, but we try, we do our best and that is what counts. Even if only one person says thank you and appreciate our work that is the most rewarding thing.
And God sees everything, he knows our sins and our good deeds and that counts.

i think this is saying that we need to try and keep are good deeds on the dl (down low) becasue even if u want to say them really badly don't worry becasue over time someone will notice it and thank you and if you sin don't make a big sece but also don't try to cover it up because then your sin shall be found out later and more than likely u will get into more trouble so i think that if this trip is to go really well we need to not boast about good deeds and not try to make a big scene or hide are sins because then other people shall get the wrong idea about our religion

I really like this verse. It reminds us that even though nobody is noticing at first our good deeds or even our sins it will eventually come out. In Vancouver, just sitting down and talking with somebody didn't seem as if it was really helping at the time, but later on that day or even now i remember how much of a good mood i was in after i had just talked to that person. And from hearing from the people who ran the places that was all that the homeless people needed as well. Those good deeds are seen if not by anyone else but always by God.

As much as we try to hide sin, and on the outside we might be good at it, God always knows.

A lot of times people will do a good deed and publicize it for the whole world to know...as in "did you hear the amazing thing that I DID for someone?" And I am not saying that because they are publicizing their good deed that it makes it any less good. But the deeds that are kept quieter are the ones more admired I think...and God appreciates them even if no one else seems to

I see it as putting sin and good deeds on one of those floating scales... kinda. They're equal to each other- they happen to everyone, and it gets brought out into the open with everyone. But I think, that Paul is talking about Christians... because some sins of people who don't want christ in their life can be hidden forever.

To add to the whole publicize thing, I almost hate to say this but I think some people only do good deeds to get the attention from other people. You personally won't get anything good out of it, if you aren't doing it from the bottom of your heart and actually mean what you are doing. I think bragging about your good deeds is worse than not doing any deeds to begin with. You know what I mean? For example, businesses that give money or whatever, make public notice of that just so they can get more sales. I think that was probably the whole point of giving was to get money in return.

i feel as if a lot of sin can go unnoticed for a really long time, and that it may not be eventually told to everyone in the world, or even your family, but you and God always will know what has happened, untill you ask for forgivness, but still in your head your always going to know what you did, and i think that could hurt you in the long run. that after a while it will start to break you down and things will be worse off for you. and with the good deeds i dont think you need to go out telling ppl how much you do in good deeds becasue it should just be in our normal life style, so why then do we have to go tell ppl if were always suppose to live like that? if someone is always generouse then there just a generouse person

To me this means that no matter how hard you try to conceal either a sin or a good deed (although I don't know why you would conceal a good deed)they will always show up.

If people don't notice your good deeds, it doesn't really matter because the point of it is to glorify God and he sees it and he will reward you when you get to heaven.

Doing things for the right reasons is something that I need to work on because I have a habit of only doing things when it benefits me or pleases someone else that will benefit me...

Everything you do has consequences, whether they're good or bad. There is immediate gratification, which would be if someone said what a good person you were for doing a good deed... and there's eternal gratification which is much much better because it come from God. So even if no one knows the things you do God does and you will be either rewarded or punished in the end.
