I think this means that God gave us the ability to be powerful and self-disciplined but also to love. He gave us this "flame" which represents the gospel. We need to fan that flame to make it grow or spread to others.

With that God doesn't want us to be shy with the gifts He gave us, this is perfectly applied to LA. We all know the special gifts and talents we have and how to use them. This is a perfect opportunity for us to shine in those special gifts that God has given us. Whether its singing to the people the gospel or just talking with them or simply listening, we're displaying God's wonderful gifts and fanning the flame of his love.

I think these verses are really important because they talk about how when we are given gifts, we shouldn't hide them, we should 'keep them ablaze.' It's really important when we go to LA to use everything we have to do what we can to help.

God has given us each our own gifts and he doesn't want us to be shy with them. One of our gifts may bring out another gift in someone else. All gifts will contribute to the group and it is important that you use your gifts. I mean, if your gift is sharing the word of God, then it is obviously important that you help those that don't have that gift.

God has given us gifts and he doesnt want them to go to waste, that is why he is sending us down to LA to us our gifts he has given us even if we dont know what they are yet.

I love what Kayla said, that one of our gifts can bring out another gift in someone else. God doesn't want us to hide our gifts and strengths, He just doesn't want us to think that because of them we are better of use thgem for wrong reasons. And it is important because we have to use everything we have down in LA, but we have to be careful about how we use them.

i think the hard thing for me is that i don't nessarily know what my gifts are... and i'm not really bold by any defination. So that's hard. But i'm constantly reminded to be bold and to be using my gifts for the Lord.

What I think what this is saying is be generous with the gifts God gave you, be bold with them, use them. Don't let them get dusty and rusty. God wouldn't have given us these gifts if he didn't mean or want for us to use them.

I think our gifts are the things we do well. I think everyone has a different gift. I'm not a very good listener or very good at talking with people I don't know but there are other things I'm good at. Different people are better at different things.

There's a song by Stephen Curtis Chapman called "Live Out Loud" and in the first verse it says something like... What if I went on who Wants to be a Millionaire and won a million dollars and buried in a coffee can and pretended like nothing ever happened.... That's kind of what this verse is saying to me. We have these amazing gifts from God. Everyone's is unique and made just for them. So why would we try to hide something so special as that. We need to learn how to use our gifts and use them for Him. Other wise it's like burying them in a coffee can and pretending we aren't special at all...but we are.

i think that this verse is pretty much saying that if we plan on helping with others that we need to pray and just talk to god then you shall be better at being a missionary and spreading Gods word and i think that this could help us because all that we are doing is just helping other people out and showing them Gods love so we should be at are peak of being a good missionary.

Keep using your gifts that you were given, don't let them wear away. Be bold with them, use them for God's purpose. Use them lovingly. Be sensible with them.

God gave us gifts for a reason. We can't just let them sit unused in a corner now, can we? Like Heidi mentioned, nobody would bury a million dollars in a coffee can. So why bury a gift from, of all people, God? But, at the same time, we can't just go willy-nilly with our gifts, using them for our purposes. We need to make sure that use them in a way that will glorify God and let people see him through us.
