Lately we've really been talking about how to talk to people about our faith. In these verses Paul was in jail for being a priest. He talks about how he was persecuted for speaking the Word of God. This is easily relatable to our trip, and life. We've all been like Paul and will be. But here he tells us not to worry about it because Jesus was persecuted as well.
The verses also tell us that we can be made fun of or whatever and to not be ashamed because we know God.
In verse 14, it says to "guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you - guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us." To me this says to not let other people's (non-believers) thinking get to us. And, with the help of the Holy Spirit, no one will be able to shake our thinking or our own relationship with God. This makes me feel confident in knowing that we have the Holy Spirit there helping us when we are being challenged by being persecuted.

We as Christians have really always been persecuted in one way or another, but why should that stop us from spreading God's word? We have to stand up for Him when noone else will, and it is our job as His followers to spread His word...no matter what the consequences. Going down to LA we will hopefully do our best tp show God's compassion and love, even when people think that all is lost.

The verse that stuck out to me the most was "So don't be embarrassed to speak up for our Master" This is the biggest thing that I struggle with. It's not that I am ashamed of it, but I don't have the guts to say anything to people, even my closest friends. That is going to be my biggest challenge in LA is going out and sharing the gospel.

i think that this verse is saying that we need to go out and spread God and not really caer about what other people might say about u becasue who really cares at least we can't be thrown in jail or were not going to be crucified so don't worry go out there and save a few friends from eternal damnation so i think this verse shall help us on the trip by how we are going to be able and since we won't ever see these people again then who cares we need to get out there and don't wry about what they say about you and spread the word of God

What has always amazed me about Paul is that even when he was thrown into jail he never failed God. Far from blaming God for his troubles like so many people do...Paul proclaimed God's love and power. In LA we're going to be facing people that won't listen to us...but we can't let that stop us.

Wow when I first read these verses about faith I thought yeah let's stand up for what we really believe in...but what does that really mean?

It reminded me of the Christian girl in the Columbine shooting...the guy asked her if she believed in God she said yes and he shot her. I think that standing up for your faith really means that you are willing to die for your belief in God to show others or stand up to others.

But if a guy had a gun in your face and asked you do you believe in God would you say yes...or no?

Keep going, Keep sharing, Keep Doing good. The Message we know was true, is true and always will be true will never change. So stick with it. Don't let the hard times get you down, in the end it is us who win. We've got God on our side, the creator of everything, what can come against us that he cannot overcome? The answer: nothing.

So I know very well that God is on our side. So who could possibly beat us? Well, noboby. But for some reason that knowledge just doesn't make it through to my brain sometimes. It's like I have a block between what I know, and what I think. I know I should speak up about God, because, honestly? What's the worst that could happen? But I don't usually do it. I just have a hard time taking the initial plunge. And I need to get over that.
